The 2024 Autumn Nations Series is into its final weekend. In truth, it’s just two fixtures that will make very interesting viewing for the neutral viewer in terms of competitivity: France vs Argentina and Scotland vs Australia. Les Bleus and Los Pumas is arguably world rugby’s most unpredictable fixture on a good day, in which both teams can mix the sublime and absolute crap in equal measure. As for Scotland and the Wallabies… by now, the visitors are supposed to be 0-2 on their Grand Slam quest. Instead, it’s the other way round, with Joe Schmidt’s men somehow two wins away from completing the greatest in-year turnaround the sport would have ever seen in the professional era!
