Guinness Six Nations: Controversially banned advert resurfaces ahead of 2025 edition

With the 2025 Six Nations approaching, fans are reminiscing about a classic advert that was pulled from TV.

The BBC Sport advert featured fans from the home nations all cheering for England, only to reveal the tagline: “The Six Nations, it’s not about who you want to win… it’s about who you want to lose.”

The advert was pulled ahead of the 2012 competition over concerns it might be seen as anti-English. However, the rugby community embraced the humor, and the video has become an annual tradition for fans during the Six Nations.

Many consider it one of the best adverts created for the tournament, celebrating the home nations’ rich diversity and grassroots passion, resonating with supporters of England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.
